A Study on Improvement of Health Statistics

Abstract
|
|
|
This study was carried out to improve health statistics in Korea. It is concerned with what can be improved.
Objective is to prepare a set of recommendations with respect to present health statistics. The major results of the study are summarized as following:
1. Most administrative statistics that are calculated in the central office are produced in the unio of public health centers. The statistical work is not treated as professional work due to the lack of understanding. To assign the people who are capable of performing is the way to improve the statistics. and it is needed to organize community health commitree.
2. National Center for Health Statistics does should be set up to perform national health policies und health planning and for making statistical data from acquired information.
3. Figuring out various health indicators like quality of life, deficiency of nutrition, sychosis incidence, coverage of health care, need of health care.
4. To improve of vital statistics, it is needed to report vital statistics through health center and enforement of the law to report the vital statistics data.
5. We need health information system from public health centers to the central office so that we can input various health information and abtain output of the result of analysis.
